Mitt Romney was in Mt. Pleasant yesterday morning to drum up support for his campaign. It is interesting to hear the varied thoughts on this guy, there are those that think he is the best option for the Republican candidate for President and then there are those that listen closely to what he says and think he's a smooth liar.
It's truly sad that there aren't any candidates on the Republican side that have captured the imagination and support of the wide range of Republican voters. It costs so much to run for President and takes so much time that most truly qualified people (on both sides of the isle) just don't want to do it, or can't afford to do it.
At this point there is no one that I feel excited about leading our country. No one, not on either side. Of course, one vote won't make a huge difference but it does count, I just don't know who I will support when the election rolls around. So sad.
Virtual Private Serversis a perfect solution for those that want to have more storage space without going out and buying their own dedicated server and then taking on the responsibility to make sure everything is always working correctly.
The amount of disc space, monthly data transfer, software, maximum number of domains managed and the POP E-mail addresses vary with the amount you need and the amount of money that you want to spend for this service on a monthly basis.
VPS hosting users get root access to the server, independence from other server customers, and all of the benefits of dedicated hosting without the associated hardware or maintenance costs. If you have ever hosted your own server you know how frustrating it can be to keep everything up and running correctly. If you don't have enough space or you run into a problem the solution is major.
All of our VPS Web Hosting services include state-of-the-art technology from SWsoft™, a leader in virtualization and automation software. Now, think about that. Is this something you know anything about managing? Can you do it on your own? If not, you really need to pay attention to this company and what they have to offer vs what the other companies out there do.
It is interesting to see the timing of the opportunities on payperpost. If you are a night person you are going to have more opportunities than if you are a morning person to post and make some money.
I just wish they were giving us more opportunities per day, 2 is probably fair, but it takes forever to make much money that way.
I have been posting for sometime now and although I get a charge out of the money feeding into my account, it would be even better if it were more…obviously!
It will be interesting to see what changes they do when the page rank that they use is no longer available. Rumor has it, and it seems to be true, that Google is no longer going to make page rank available for us to see and work with. It's their site so they can do what they want, but it will make things different on this payperpost.
As a corporate trainer I am always pleased to see interest in passing on the knowledge of how to do something to the best of their ability. Training in sales is critical to the survival of skilled craftsman, just as it is in any other profession.
Sales Training this company has taken the courageous move to teach to others on how to do the sales of plumbing supplies to encourage the growth of their businesses is truly a wonderful advancement of their own company. As the training classes expand the opportunity for some of the smaller firms to expand will increase, the larger businesses will be able to expand even more and employ more plumbers. It is certainly a win - win situation for everyone.
Greg was sweet to me tonight and made shrimp fettuccini for dinner. He made the sauce, cooked the noodles and then added the shrimp. Sounded so good, then we went to eat it and ICKY the shrimp were so strong it was AWFUL. He checked the date on the frozen package and whalla, it had expired in 2004. Think it had been in the freezer for a LONG time. Sure did take care of the hunger though. The garbage disposal had a big supper.
I went down and listed some stuff on eBay. Not a lot, need to do more tomorrow, but just didn't feel like doing it tonight.
The auctions today were less than beneficial. Got a few things in Ft. Madison but the buyers of the FEW pieces of decent glassware were nuts, they paid twice what things were worth, even if you were buying them to keep them for yourself. I got one plate and that was all the glassware. I got some Tupperware which I have listed (still have a couple things to list, will do that tomorrow.) The only good thing about going was that I got to see Michelle and Tom. Michelle cracks me up so it is always good to see her.
I left
Now I'm going to take a hot bath and go to bed.
I think I told everyone that last week the post office delivery gal left all my eBay packages sitting by the mailbox for 4 days. Well, we went to the post office, talked to Kim (lead postmistress) and told her about it. Actually, Greg did, he had even taken pictures of the labels and the fact that they delivered mail the day we went to the post office right on top of the packages and didn't pick them up.
Well, Kim was hot! She said she would send the gal back out and the packages would be picked up. She did. Then she called Greg back and said that the carrier actually had the balls to lie to Kim and say that the packages weren't there before. Whew, Kim had the proof that they were and that she just didn't do her job.
Anyway, the packages this week were picked up. Now, just to be bullheaded I just put all but one (an international that has to go to the post office) out for her to pick up today. I could have taken them up, but since she was a butt about it before, she can just pick them up all the time. Actually, it's kind of nice that the post office offers this service because I ship a bunch and used to take them to the post office and get a cart from the back door and load everything in there, this certainly is easier!
American men that are looking for a wife and can't find one on their own are leaning on dating sites like
single Russian women (loversplante.com). This may work for some, but the American men better be willing to face the reality that the culture of Russia is totally different than the culture in America. The Russians tend to be far more focused on getting what they want, they will push their way into line, be truly outspoken as to what they want and truly upset if they don't get what they want. It is a matter of being in a culture that has a history of standing in line for everything from bread to new cars. If they want something they had better be willing to "fight" for it or lose their place in line, there are thousands of people that want what ever is available and are willing to "fight" to get it.
Dealing with Russians was a real eye opening experience for me, the first encounter was pretty rough until it was pointed out why they were so "pushy". After that was made clear and I took the time to get to know some of the people I was working with I realized that they are fabulous people, just from a different culture.
The fires in California are a reminder to me of the fires in AZ a few years ago that affected my kids. It was scary to know that everything they have worked so hard to build could be wiped away in just a few hours. Fortunately the fire was stopped before it got to their house, but they still had to evacuate, it was that close.
The destruction that was left in the wake of the fire was unbelievable. When you drive through the area that was burned you can still see the charred trees and now the new growth that is replacing what was burned.
If it is arson in
Ok, so we all know that we probably do things while driving that we shouldn't. We all know that we could improve if we worked at it. We know that our kids probably really need to be reminded or taught the correct procedures and safety manuvers that will keep them from crashing the car. But, the thought of one more way for us to be monitored by anyone, government or business, is just scary to me. I think the concept of the review of our driving habits is good, I just really hate to have it available to anyone other than ME!
The fact is, it's probably a good idea. It may make those that have habits that are unsafe really think about them the next time they get behind the wheel. My doubt is with those that are just flat bad drivers. Will they change their habits because a video showed that they should. Probably not, they will continue to drink and drive, to tailgate, to swerve all over, to speed, to hit the brakes too hard for no reason, to pass someone and then just stay beside the car they ar passing instead of moving on around them. Can you tell there are some things that drive most of us nuts? Well, if the GreenRoad greenroadtech.com would really make a difference I guess I could put my insecurities behind me and be glad there is something that works!
We got home early today. I was feeling a little under the weather and there really wasn't a need to stay in DM at the office when what we were working on could be done at home so we left about 3:10 instead of the 4:30 or later that we normally do. Now it is a matter of getting everything that needs to be done here done so that I am ahead of the game instead of behind, the way it seems I have been for a couple of weeks now.
John is coming to help Greg with the repairs on the house on Monday and then on Wed. night we are supposed to leave for St. Louis for a conference on internet marketing. I thought we left of Thursday night not Wed. so I am not sure how we will handle that just yet. Greg may have to go down ahead of me and then I can drive down on Thursday night, I've got people to train next week (at least one and perhaps 2) and with this week being a short week for Terry I just don't see how we can close down a day early. We will have to discuss it and come to a decision in the next couple of days. My mood is too grumpy right now to want to think about 3 days sitting there listening to another marketing guru tell me how to do what works for them. Although, in honesty, most of them are pretty interesting and I do learn some things, it's just that I forget them 20 minutes later….must be old age!
