John has been working at the office with us doing some linking. He has been writing the articles that are just so funny. I knew that he could be silly, but he's really out there on some of these, good work.
The trip home was interesting again tonight. Why, may I ask, is it that on Thursdays the snow has to come in at the time we are headed home? The road from Eddyville to MP was covered with drifting, packing snow so the trip slowed down quite a bit, still didn't take the 5 + hours it has other times, but geez! Tomorrow isn't supposed to be bad and then over freezing on Saturday. I really hate this weather! I hate the heat bills, the cold, the ice, the snow and almost everything else about it. I told Greg to remind me of that when I am suffering from the heat!
Now we are home, Mercy is being picky, she sat on Greg's lap for a few minutes and then when she didn't get her way (whatever that was) she jumped down and is now avoiding us except to walk in, meow, and then leave. She's got to decide when she wants to be held on her terms, not ours.
Today has been a busy one, lots of calls, some good stuff happening and good conversations on lots of different projects.
I thought I would post a couple pictures of the apartment we are in so you could see where we are, gosh it's nice having a full kitchen!! The rest of it is really nice too, but gosh, a kitchen with a full size stove! I may have to bake cookies some night (so ok, I'll buy those that you slice off and bake since we don't have the baking stuff in DM but that's ok.)

John is working so hard, he's truly been an asset. A couple other people hired and we will be in good shape.
Super Bowl is this weekend; it should be interesting to see what the spread actually ends up being. Since I don't know a bookie, don't plan to find one, it's just fun to "pretend" and watch the game!
With the elections next week I believe that we will see McCain either wrap up the nomination and the Bit– either be slammed or have it truly end up in a horse race at the convention. I really hope that doesn't happen, politics can get dirty enough with normal bull without the Hillary faction causing the convention to become a dirty laundry, mud slinging match where she tries the rest of her true personality tricks to get the nomination. What a scary thought that is, the
Yesterday it was in the 50 and today it is single digit with winds blowing all the way from
We went to "the bowling alley" for lunch. It's just down the road and have pretty inexpensive and usually good sandwiches. I laughed so hard at Greg, he ordered a sausage sandwich (has a special name like a ginney grinder or something) and kept saying yumm, yumm while he was eating it. He said the peppers were the coolest part of the sandwich, it was really spicy and he loved it!!
I have been on the phone today, think I have two sold for next month but we will see…although both said they wanted it and send the contract. Another one I called said her budget was almost nothing for marketing, really small town, so that wasn't going to work, but she was delightful and is going to send me some updates for the site which will be wonderful!
Being someone that has worn glasses since the ripe old age of 3 I can truly understand the need for glasses cases that are not only pretty but priced right.
Zenni Optical: Sell Rx Glasses $8 with case! meets the needs of anyone that wears glasses and ever needs to protect them when they are wearing a different pair. If you go to the site you will see a wide variety of different options for you to choose from and just look at the prices! Only because they only sell their own creations can they offer this wonderful opportunity. Check them out, you may find just exactly what you have been looking for!
Wow, we thought that the Baymont would be hard to beat as far as rooms, customer service and all. Well, I won't say that the customer service is any better, both are terrific, but instead of a room we are now in an apartment. Literally, kitchen (seperate room), dining room and living room combo, big bedroom and bath. Mike, the manager, said he just couldn't see putting us in a regular room when we were going to be here as long as we are and since he doesn't put this room (apt.) in the computer he has total control over it so he decided this was best. How wonderful!
We were friends last night for dinner. How nice to go to their house instead of a restaurant. We had a good chance to visit, see where they are (and it's nice!) and truly enjoyed ourselves. Next time it will be at our place LOL
Off to work now, but wanted to get this in since I didn't get much done after we got back last night, I started reading her book and got so caught up in it that the rest of what I wanted to do suffered. It will just make today busier!
Interesting how Hilary was unable to do better in SC, gee, I'm sorry LOL I know she won't drop out if she doesn't get the first place in more primaries, but I can wish.
The weather has finally begun to warm up, the subzero temperatures are gone and I hope they are gone for the rest of the year! Yesterday most of the snow melted and today the house isn't freezing, nice change. I told Greg to remind me of how much I complained about being cold when it gets hot, It just reinforces the fact that Ecuador was wonderful, 80's in the days and 60's at night. Gee, wish there were a way to make a decent living there, I'd encourage Greg to move there in a minute….we'll see what happens in the future.
I spent the weekend making call lists for the office. Hopefully they will help them get focused and sell. Steve said that he needs a call list, so now he'll have it. Let's see if it works for him. We looked to buy a list of appropriate contacts and there isn't one which meant that I had to build it. I don't mind, it was good experience.
The TV has a program on right now about the election last night and said that Bill Clinton is harming Hillary's race, keep going Bill!! We'll see what happens on Super Tuesday. They also had Huckabee on, he was very articulate and did a good job. Interesting.
I keep wondering why we are living where it gets so darn cold! I hate it when the house gets cool (not really cold but really cool) due to the nasty cold outside and the fact that the house is the age and style that it is, hard to heat and expensive to heat.
We are going to run to Missouri later to get cigarettes, I haven't quit yet obviously.
I've spend last night and today building lists for the guys to call on Monday (and hopefully longer). I just need to keep adding to the lists and giving them something to call that makes sense. We need them to close some more deals and in a hurry, for their sake and ours. We have some coming in next week, which will help, but we need to get Iowa done so we can move on to other states.
It is imperative that I get some more people on the phone, will focus on that next week. More people calling will help. Just have to find the right combination of staff and then keep them supplied with lists. Ahh, it will be just wonderful LOL
Are you looking for the perfect valentine's gifts for your family? If you are you may truly enjoy making something special for them by using the photos you have of those special people you love. You can choose a variety of different styles to have your photo made into and give them to your favorite people.
Everyone gives a card, why not make yours truly different and one that will be held onto for years to come?
We just returned from seeing the movie "Charlie Wilson's War". It was a good movie, Tom Hanks does a great job and does Julia Roberts. I would recommend that you get it on DVD when it comes out, some interesting history in it.
What's happening in the primary and caucus elections is really scary on the Democrat side, as far as I'm concerned. Hillary winning Nevada shouldn't be such a bad sign except that the voter turn out was light and if that is any indication of what the general election will be it could be a disaster for the United States, Hilary could actually win the nomination and I'm not sure that McCain has a strong enough organization to beat her. Obama needs to get another major win to stop her charge. Hopefully Florida will give it to him.
I know that it all boils down to the electoral votes and the count is close at this point, it's just a shame that someone like Hilary could actually be in a position to pull this off. She's not what I want as a leader of our country (obviously).
I'm not sure that the Republican party will turn out in the strength needed to win the general election which means that I want the best possible Democrat to be the candidate and that sure as heck isn't another Clinton.
She has never been a leader of anything, not a state, not a city and the fact that she claims to have experience because she was in the White House with her cheating husband doesn't give her any claim to leadership. The one thing that she backed and said she was going to get done was the health care issue and that got blown out of the water after which she pouted for months. Great leader. Sick.
Now I understand that being a woman it would seem that I should support the woman candidate. Well, if it were nearly any other woman I probably would look at it really hard. With Hillary I don't have to, she is not qualified.
Do I think that anyone is really qualified to be the President? Other than the Mayor I don't know of anyone that can really understand the pressures of the office. It is easy for an "arm chair quarterback" to say that we would do this or that, like reduce the amount of money going overseas, reduce the number of government employees, change the IRS system, increase our military with equipment and intelligence that would support them, put more operatives in the field to get the Intel to perhaps defuse situations before they get out of hand, reduce the welfare programs by enforcing the rules that require those that can go to work to do just that, to encourage the manufacture of real goods here in the USA to keep the creation of goods here rather than depending on other countries to supply most of our goods and on and on. That doesn't take into consideration the pressure from "friends" that want special treatment, congress that wants bills passed that are filled with pork barrel spending, with idiot leaders that demand we capitulate to their ridiculous demands for money, support, or whatever the cause of the day is for them. There isn't enough money in the world for someone to truly want that job, it's all about the power. Who do I believe will be able to handle the power without going crazy with it? Well, I believe McCain can, I believe that Huckebee could and I believe the Mayor could.
Problem is that Huckebee won't be able to go head to head with Hilary. He's not nasty enough, in my opinion. Although, he did get the governorship in Arkansas following the Clinton lock, but, not sure that being the governor of a "nothing" state qualifies him for the roll anymore than it did Clinton.
Obama is going to have to come up with something stronger than the message that has taken him this far. He's going to have to go after Hilary and take her out if he's going to have a chance. He can take the high road and still do it but he's going to have to really get with it pretty soon. She won't play clean, she never has and never will.
Those are just my thoughts. The adventure of the election is on, it will be interesting to watch.
