Well, there wasn't snow today anyway, it was just a HUGE thunderstorm with lightening and torrents of rain coming down between Albia and Pella (that's about 70 miles or so). It was raining so hard that some of the traffic was going really slow, it was just that hard to see.
Prior to running into the rain, just outside of MP, before Fairfield, as we are traveling at 74 mph a highway patrol car when blasting past us, no lights, no siren, just moving right out. He had to be going 95 + by the distance he put between us and him in just a very short distance. I told Greg that either it was shift change time and he was late or he felt like going for a quick ride and who the heck is going to stop him?LOL
Now it is in the mid 40's, overcast and very wet. Hope tomorrow is sunny, just for a change!
Terry closed one deal today, not a big one, but hey, it's a sale!
Hopefully there will be some additional payperposts today, my timing has been so off in checking them, but, just been busy!

The quilt is sewn together and all that is left is to tie it off. I thought it had to go to Marshalltown but last night I looked at the newsletter and it has to go to Honey Creek- New Providence. That assures me that I will find someone that is going up cause I'm not going that far. Perhaps Dylon is going, I'll call him later.
The weather is on and it shows that we are going to have severe weather (rain) this weekend with highs in the upper 40's.
It was fun talking with Cyndi last night and hearing her talk about her day. She has grown so much and is so wise in may ways. Glo would be so proud :) (so is Mom)
My youngest grandson had surgery yesterday and Cyn said that it was a success, thank goodness. Hopefully he won't encounter these problems anymore!
I got an email from Rita yesterday that just about blew my mind, I really had to think back to when we lived in
The trip in to town today was uneventful, good roads and quick trip so that was nice.
Cyn called tonight to tell me that I was right about the cost of groceries. I had called her the other day and said that my trip to the grocery store was sure more expensive then it usually is, that the cost of groceries had really gone up. She went today and was shocked with the increases. So was I. I can't imagine the difference it must make in Bobbi's family budget, shoot! And the news blames it all on the fact that
The news said that there was an increase in house sales this month so maybe it will turn around. We can hope.
Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer, we can hope. This is crazy!
Guess what it was doing in
Anyway, Easter was fun, Martha came for dinner and then we played Skipo. It was fun!! We had ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, sweet potatoes, lettuce salad, crescent rolls, green bean casserole and fresh, warm apple pie. Lots of food, but I thought it made sense since then we can take left over’s to town with us for dinner. It will be good.
I listed a few things on eBay last week and some actually sold, which was sweet! Yesterday Greg came in with some stuff he had bought at an auction a long time ago, tax tokens and arrowheads so I listed a bunch of them too. He said he had given them to me some time ago but I didn't jump on them to list so he put them away, then when I was listing this week he found them and brought them to me. Hopefully they do well, the arrowheads should according to the history of others that have sold. These are really cool!
I'm packed for DM so now I can go work on the quilt and finish that up so it can go to Spring Body this week and be GONE. All that's left is putting the two sides together and tying it then it can go. That shouldn't take too long, especially if I get it stitched together tonight, I can tie it in DM if I have to.
Greg starts classes on Wed. in
I wish we were with you kids for the holidays, but don't give up on us, we're working on getting there LOL
Kara did the ad for LaQuinta for us, she's so bloody talented. What a wonderful kid!
We hope the Easter Bunny found all our grandkids and they got lots of eggs! Yummy! Egg salad sandwiches! Chocolate bunnies and all the other stuff, good for you!
Just remember that today is the day we celebrate the fact that Christ has risen from the grave to save us all from sin, it doesn't get much better than that, we can all use his forgiveness.
San Francisco is known for the beautiful bridge, the neighborhoods that are ethnically unique, Fisherman's Wharf and lots of hills. No one warned us about the fact that it rains, a lot!
We were visiting the city and wanted to walk around the downtown area and just look at all the buildings and absorb part of the culture of the people, including the hundreds of street people. We walked out of the hotel, headed down the street and two things became very obvious, it was cold and we didn't have jackets along and it was raining. Great! Fortunately there was a shop with both umbrellas and fleece jackets that weren't so expensive that you wanted to take out a loan to pay for them. The clerk told us that it rains a lot and everyone in San Francisco has umbrellas. Well, it never rains on the TV shows about the city and the song about leaving his heart in San Francisco doesn't talk about rain and cold!
Regardless, the city is beautiful, a great place to visit, take the wine tour, walk on the Golden Gate Bridge, Visit Chinatown, eat at Fisherman's Wharf, take a tour of Alcatraz and smell the horrid odor of the sea lions that hang out at the pier.
When you want to plan your trip to San Francisco you should go to the site which is the home to Trusted Tours & Attractions and let them help you plan it. You will be glad you did!
There are other cities that you can get a great tour set with when you go to the site of Trusted Tours & Attractions, one of them is San Diego zoo.
Ok, so there was this opportunity for a $12 blog on baseball..I couldn't let that pass, first because it was available and secondly because it's $12!! So, I went ahead and wrote a bunch of crap that I took off their site and hopefully it will be accepted. They sure do provide a bunch of information for those that are interested in playing.
It is the night to go have a drink before we head back to the hotel. I told Greg I just want one, don't really care where, so we'll probably go right out by the hotel and then eat some appetizers and call it a night.
The sun needs to come out, it has been grey, cold and nasty just long enough that the mood is getting bleak, sun will make all the difference. I can truly understand the depression rate that we hear about in Alaska and the other Northern areas, not much sun for 6 months of the year, shoot, this has only been a few days and it's enough!!
Hopefully there will be another opportunity for posting today, I like free money LOL

There was a parade for St. Patrick's Day in West Des Moines but the weather didn't cooperate a great deal, it's raining and cold.
Trying to get in touch with people today proved the fact that there are those that truly celebrate the "holiday" whether they are Irish or not. Many people were out of the office and one guy that Terry got in touch with informed him that he as "half in the bag" already (3:30) and so call him tomorrow. He was celebrating. Wow, can't even relate to that.
Another loan option for those facing a short term cash flow problem, but have job with a paycheck, and plan to pay it back immediately to avoid the high interest rates is payday loans. The link to the Iowa page is one that all you have to do is fill out the application and submit it. If you qualify you will be notified and be able to get your short term loan.
Just be sure you are able to pay it back with your next paycheck or you will end up paying a lot of money for the loan interest, which is why they are able to loan money to those that are considered high risk.
