It appears that the Midwest has done something to make Mother Nature unhappy!  The night before last there were 5 tornados on the ground in SW Iowa and last night there were more.  I heard on the weather this morning that so far this year the Midwest has experienced 100 tornados this is an all time high.  Goodness!  Parkersburg certainly is an example of the strength and speed of a tornado, 8 dead and the town is a pile of ruin.  How sad, it was such a lovely little town with its Victorian B&B on 14 that I saw when I would drive through the town on my way north.  It is just outside of Parkersburg where I saw the silver fox, such a beautiful animal.  That could be part of the reason I had such fond thoughts about Parkersburg, I mean, how many times in your life do you get to see a silver fox?

Today there aren’t a lot of clouds but the wind is really blowing, probably the wind that was in the southwest earlier last week (or maybe it was before that but I remember hearing about the 50+ mph winds).

The trip to Tucson is set.  It’s the day after I do the presentation in St. Joe, MO to the hotel group.  It will seem rather strange to be back in the same hotel that we used to meet for Ramada only talking to a different group.  How silly is that?

The site building has taken a couple of days off as I work on other projects for staff.  Today we have just one in while the other is off doing meetings and things.  I must admit that I am ready for the week to come to an end, it’s been a strange one with weather and all.

During the tornado warning last night I took the cat downstairs with me.  That was a noisy situation!  She really HATES change and certainly where there are other people and strange environments.  Since there were other people in the lobby I told the front desk gal that I was going to the laundry room to see if being with just me would calm the noisy protester down.  It worked, she was still shaking like a leaf but she quit screaming!  When I took her back upstairs I used the steps which brought some screams but nothing like the elevator had caused her to go into full vocal force with.  Fortunately there was no one else in the elevator when we went down, I would have really felt sorry for their ears!!

The trip home for the Professor was interesting, he said it was like watching a great light show, it was brighter outside with the lightening that is sometimes is during a storm in the daytime.  Scared me to have him driving at that time but he was behind the storm and it was moving away from him at a rapid speed so it worked out although he got drenched on his way inside.  We had some major water come down in just a short time.
