There was a parade for St. Patrick's Day in West Des Moines but the weather didn't cooperate a great deal, it's raining and cold.
Trying to get in touch with people today proved the fact that there are those that truly celebrate the "holiday" whether they are Irish or not. Many people were out of the office and one guy that Terry got in touch with informed him that he as "half in the bag" already (3:30) and so call him tomorrow. He was celebrating. Wow, can't even relate to that.
Another loan option for those facing a short term cash flow problem, but have job with a paycheck, and plan to pay it back immediately to avoid the high interest rates is payday loans. The link to the Iowa page is one that all you have to do is fill out the application and submit it. If you qualify you will be notified and be able to get your short term loan.
Just be sure you are able to pay it back with your next paycheck or you will end up paying a lot of money for the loan interest, which is why they are able to loan money to those that are considered high risk.
Starting at 7 this morning I entered information on the new site until 10 tonight. Greg has been working on it as long as I have today and he has many, many days of work in it before it got to the point where I could help. We still have content to transfer but at least we are coming! Should have it done tomorrow. If you want to see the new look go to www.iowabeautiful.com. It's the same format that all of the sties will be, including the video which we will either make, have sent to us or get from UTube like the one that is there now.
Kara is going to do an ad for us for the La Quinta. I really need to learn how to do it, but there are other things that I need to learn first I think, like editing a video…I think I can get that if I just dedicate some serious time to it.
Heidi commented that she likes the new look. Thanks for telling me sweetheart, I'll tell Greg too.
The dishes, laundry and vacuuming are done now, some of the dusting (enough for this week anyway) so it's really close to bedtime…5:30 will come early. It may take us longer to get to work tomorrow since we got rain and then snow…that equates ice to me…whee
!

No one wants to give you credit when you have outstanding bad credit loans and yet you don't have to stay in that position. With a little planning, some help from sites like this that will walk you through what you need to do to repair your credit you can once again have a good credit rating.
One of the first things that you will want to check is your credit report to find out just where you actually stand. You can do this by getting a Free Credit Report and Score as directed on this site. Once you know what you need to do you can begin the process of getting it repaired.

Starting a new business, which you want to succeed, takes more than just a good idea. It takes courage, patience, funding and perseverance. It has been an interesting and challenging experience to start the new businesses that we have started in the past 11 years.
First there were the hotels. The design, raising the equity, the construction, FF&E decisions and purchases, hiring, training and then actually opening the doors and hoping for guests, Although there were lots of challenges and stress was unbelievable, it was certainly worth the risk, the adventure and the learning curve.
The employees were always a challenge. We had a lower turnover rate than most hotels, we treated our employees with dignity, we listened to them and we appreciated what they did and told them so. That may well be the reason that we retained employees for a longer period of time then our competition. We didn't pay the highest wages in town, but the staff kept telling us they were happy working for us.
Selling the last hotel in June of this year was sad in some ways but such a relief. Since the sale I can actually say that I have not missed the hassle at all. No more calls with problems, no more worrying about the pool, hot tub, type of shampoo, taxes, payroll, grounds keeper, revenue or anything else. The amount of joy that we had running and owning the hotel was worth the stress for awhile, but it's wonderful to have it gone!
Now we have another business up and running. It doesn't have 18 employees, three floors and high utility bills. It's a beautiful office where we will have no more than 4 employees and great hours with no late night phone calls. It's back "home" in
It has been an interesting time in
We had a talk from Dan Kennedy today which was fun. He's a funny guy that makes lots of money with his information marketing and doesn't even have email! I met his administrative assistant while out having a cigarette and we got to visiting. She (Vicky Townsed) lives in
The hotel we are staying at is really not one that I would recommend to anyone that wants a nice place to stay without breaking the family vault. It's expensive, the rooms are small, it has been so cold in the meeting rooms that many of us are wearing out winter coats, the guest rooms have finally gotten so the heat works. It's an old hotel with a 2 pipe system (hotel people know what that is) and it just isn't effective. Now, I mean the meeting room has been so cold that your nose runs and yet you are supposed to listen, learn and be alert. Shoot, it's too cold for that.
I just never have understood why conference organizers feel like they have to pick the most expensive hotel to hold their sessions. Not that I think a limited service could or should be the location, but how about someplace in the range of $100 a night? This just seems crazy to me to spend $159 for something that is less than satisfactory as far accommodations are concerned. I know, gripe, gripe, gripe. But, I believe I would get more out of the sessions if I weren't freezing during them!
Yes, we are in STL for the marketing conference. The conference is being held at the Renaissance hotel in down town. The only way I can say how much this hotel has disappointed me is to say that the only time I remember staying someplace worse for a conference is the year we had the Ramada conference in FL and nearly froze to death! This is the same way.
It is an old 2 pipe system that had us just freezing in the sessions yesterday. Since I have a nasty cold coming on it really made for a nasty day! At noon Greg and I came back to the room and got our sweaters, now, I was already wearing a sweater but put another one over the top. Still sat in the sessions and shook. Not fun.
Then, to describe this room as nice would be an exaggeration. It's not awful, but it is certainly small. They charge $12.95 a day for internet (how outdated is that mindset in a hotel) and the food is so expensive here that we leave to eat.
That has lead us to a couple of interesting places, Across the street is a deli which turned out to be a treat, great sandwiches in a quaint environment, reasonable prices and it just plain smells good. Then last night we went to a neighborhood bar and had pizza. That was kind of fun too.
Anyway, hope we learn a lot at this conference, it is expensive and cold so gotta go some!
