Frytown Auction

There are days when I am glad I got up early, drove for an hour to go to an auction.  Now, today was one of those days.   To get to Frytown I need to go through Kalona and watch carefully for the Amish wagons that are also going to the auction.  Today there weren't a lot of them on the road, just a couple.

The auction was early, 9 am, so there weren't a lot of people there, but there were some really good items!  I thought of Bobbi while I was there, thinking oh my gosh, she would LOVE todays auction but her van probably wouldn't be big enough to take all the treasures home.  The furniture they had was beautiful, antiques and went so inexpensively that I told my husband I almost bought a couple of items, but then didn't know what the heck I would do with it if I did, so left it alone.  I literally had to turn my back on one piece, it was so nice, looked like one my grandmother had at her house so brought back so many memories that I really thought about buying it…common sense over-road the thought, but it was close!

I went with my basket and packing material thinking that I probably wouldn't get a lot, but if I was lucky maybe a couple things.  Well, I filled the basket, then got a box, filled that and then got a bigger box and filled that too.  With so few people there the prices weren't high and the stuff was really in great condition.  It was a hoot!

I haven't gotten everything listed yet, just can't get into the swing of it tonight so guess it will wait until tomorrow.

Luck was with me and I found a Christmas gift for Cyn, sometimes you just get lucky!!  I also found the light that Greg wants for his desk (I bought one in DM the other night but think I'll take that one and give him this one since this is the style he wants and the other one will work fine for me.)  Got a set of flannel sheets for the guest bed too, still in the package….$2.00!!  The rest of the things are eBay items, can't go to sales unless I sell the stuff I buy!
