The other gift that might be appreicated is a pair of  Ray Ban sunglasses for those days that are so bright it hurts your eyes to watch your horse run.  Standing outside, near the rail, is where most owners or managers want to be during the race so the sunglasses are a great idea, no squinting and missing anything during the run.
