Interviewing

The office is actually beginning to hum, Terry has some sales that he has closed and has more that should close in the next week or two.  He's so excited!  Dana has finished her 2nd day and really likes what she is doing.  She is getting far smoother on the phone and understanding the site so it's much easier to talk to the clients about what we have to offer.  She will get some stuff going too in the next couple of weeks, I am sure.

We interviewed a gal today that may, or may not, come to work for us.  She seemed just a tad off, not in a bad way, but something just didn't fit the norm.  After discussing it when she left we determined that she probably lives at a women's shelter, the address she gave is a church that runs 4 or 5 shelters for women and some of the comments that she made indicate that she has had issues in the past.  I checked her references and the one I could get a hold of said that she is an outstanding worker but that since they couldn't get in touch with her due to the phone number she left not always being answered they couldn't use her as much as they would like.  If she had a solid phone number they would put her to work full time.  Interesting.  We'll see what the other reference says tomorrow and if she actually wants to work here.  If she does, then there is something that tells me to give her a chance, that offering a helping hand to someone that is coming from a shelter environment is the right thing to do, if she can do the job and she believes she can.  We'll see.
